Anton A. Bell is a career prosecutor who has devoted his legal career to public safety throughout the Hampton Roads area.  As a native and life long resident of Hampton Roads, Bell was reared by a single mother in the urban settings of Norfolk.  Overcoming many challenges, Bell went on to graduate from Norfolk Catholic High School (now Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School).  Following high school, Bell attended Norfolk State University and North Carolina Central University School of Law, where he graduated with Honors. 

Mr. Bell has delivered new energy, ideas, solutions, and resources for processing and prosecuting criminal cases.

  • Leveraged diverse resources to modernize the office and technology to better manage, research, process, and prosecute criminal cases
  • Reorganization of the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney to establish a Violent Crime Task Force and Litigation Section exclusively focused on guns, gangs, and drugs
  • Federal funding from the Department of Criminal Justice Services to support a new position dedicated to prosecuting violent crimes against women
  • Utilization of the Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury to investigate and/or secure indictments in complex criminal cases

Anton Bell is married to the former Dr. Dawn Yvette Bishop. They have one son, Anton Bell, Jr. Bell is also an ordained and licensed minister at Calvary Revival Church, where he and his wife are active in youth ministries.
